Today is Father’s Day. Today we remember the men in our lives that filled that parental role. Dad’s will be honored, appreciated and sent all kinds of well wishes. It is a blessing to have experienced the love of a good Dad.
But sadly, there are some that do not hold happy memories of their father. There could be many reasons for this — neglect, abandonment, abuse, mental illness, disagreements and anger. Many will not acknowledge this day, some will be saddened by it, others will just go through the motions without truly feeling any love or appreciation.
But, we can all rejoice in knowing that we have a Heavenly Father that desires to lavish us with His love. He assures us that we are His children and He claims us as His own. This Father will never leave or desert us, He will never hurt or disappoint us. He will always supply our needs. Our relationship with Him will last forever when we accept His love and salvation.
Celebrate today and everyday with the knowledge that you are loved by God, our Heavenly Father. He wants to wrap you in His love and care; and He wants to bless you beyond anything you can imagine.
