…we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Just about anything we undertake in life requires us to meet certain criteria. Joining a club, getting a degree, changing jobs and more require that we meet standards, pass tests or at least show in some way that we are qualified. Many times personal references are required from people that can speak for our character or eligibility. Once we apply there is always a waiting period as information is reviewed, checked and studied. Being “approved” can be a long, complicated journey.
But when we decide to accept Jesus’ salvation and join God’s family, it’s different. God has made the pathway to salvation easy and simple. There are no hoops to jump through, no goals to meet, no red tape to follow. We simply need to confess that Jesus is Lord of all and believe that God brought Him backed to life after He died on the cross for our sins.
When we truly believe this in our hearts and testify to it by confessing our sins and asking forgiveness, we are immediately welcomed into God’s family of believers. No waiting period, no review board, no personal references. God loves us and accepts us just as we are. Now that is good news!
