“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.”
John 12:46
When Jesus came into the world He brought an opportunity for change. No longer did people have to live sad, hopeless and sinful lives. Jesus brought hope, joy, love and forgiveness of sins. With the birth of Jesus, the world could now have a connection with God that had never been experienced before. Jesus brought Light to the dark places in the lives He touched. He healed the sick, restored life to the dead and gave a promise of hope to those that chose to follow Him. No one had to stay in darkness any longer!
Today, as we continue in the season of Advent, we remember that His light shines for us too. The dark places in our lives can be changed to light when we let Jesus enter them. Jesus gives hope, joy, love and forgiveness to us when we surrender to Him. In return, we are told to be His light in the world. (Matthew 5:16)
This Christmas season (and beyond) let us be more willing to share His light. Let us prayerfully reflect His love in our daily walk and in every interaction we have with others.
