“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
Ephesians 6:18
Prayer is a special gift from God with which we can talk to Him, make requests, ask forgiveness and praise Him. We can pray any time, any where; we can pray in a group or alone. God hears us whether we speak the words out loud or whisper them. In fact, He hears the prayers that we simply think or those that our hearts do not have the words to express.
The scriptures say this about prayer:
Jesus is our advocate when we pray and He sits at the right hand of God to make intercession for us. (1 John 2:1, Romans 8:34)
We can be confident when we go to God in prayer. He will meet us there with mercy and grace. (Philippians 4:6-7, Hebrews 4:16)
We can bring anything to God, our cares are important to Him. “Cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you”, 1 Peter 5:7.
Communing with God is a beautiful act. He wants to hear from us. No matter what the need or the occasion, God and Jesus are listening and are ready to help us.
